More than 18,000 Marylanders with developmental disabilities rely on Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to live and work in the community. Last week, the Maryland Department of Disabilities and the Developmental Disabilities Administration recognized the important work that DSPs do in Maryland. We appreciate all the DSPs who help Marylanders with disabilities live the lives they want with the support they need! And, thank you to our partners for allowing the Council to talk about the results of our DSP Workforce Shortage Think Tank. Learn more about the think tank at https://lnkd.in/gsUy9JQi

More than 18,000 Marylanders with developmental disabilities (DD) rely on direct support professionals (DSPs) to live, learn, work, and play in the community. Right now, there are not enough DSPs in Maryland for everyone to get the support they need and want. This summer, the Council facilitated a Think Tank to develop recommendations on how to address the DSP workforce shortage. Read the full report with recommendations: https://lnkd.in/gsUy9JQi
