Maryland Transit Administration and the University of Maryland will receive $1.6 million to create a plan focused on retaining homes and small businesses along the Maryland Purple Line light rail system. The plan will include strategies to address displacement caused by the new light rail line, currently under construction in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, in low-income areas to maintain housing affordability, green space, and environmental amenities. https://lnkd.in/eukeGDds

This financial news just in! Fitch Ratings has upgraded Maryland Department of Transportation revenue bonds supporting work at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. The bonds are now rated A+, up from A, with a stable outlook. ??BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport gets bond rating upgrade ?? Fitch Ratings has upgraded the airport’s revenue bonds in advance of an upcoming sale. The department is expected to sell about $230 million in bonds this month and will support the largest project in the airport’s history! The work includes a direct connection between Concourse A and B and a sophisticated new baggage handling system.
