Moving forward for Maryland’s healthcare! We’re excited to announce that Dr. Meena Seshamani is moving forward in becoming Maryland’s new Secretary of Health! Joined by her group of supporters, including her family and Acting Secretary Ryan Moran, she recently went through the confirmation process where she spoke about her vision for the Maryland Department of Health. During her confirmation, Dr. Seshamani addressed Maryland’s strategic priorities, including Medicare and the All-Payer Health Equity Approaches and Development (AHEAD) Model. She also spoke with the Executive Nominations Committee about her dedication to working collaboratively with stakeholders and legislators to ensure Marylanders have access to high-quality, equitable healthcare. "The Maryland Department of Health is one of the few state agencies that engages with Marylanders from the day they are born to the day that they die,” Dr. Seshamani shared. “We must make it clear to everyone, from healthcare organizations to members of the community, that the Maryland Department of Health is here to serve all Marylanders, from Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore.
