关于我们
80% of Marylanders who need help with a civil legal problem do not receive it. Still, justice matters to all Marylanders and must be pursued. Always. What does the Maryland Access to Justice Commission do? We Serve as an Umbrella that brings together all civil justice partners to maximize collective impact. We Change “the System” by improving institutions and laws that protect all Marylanders. We Educate the Public & Decision Makers about the importance of civil legal aid through our thought leadership, communications, and advocacy. We Develop Programs & Implement Innovations to help Marylanders navigate the civil justice system.

Congress’s proposed budget could devastate low-income families, seniors, and vulnerable communities by slashing over $2 trillion from critical programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and education funding—while expanding tax breaks for the wealthy. These cuts would deepen inequality, increase legal hardships, and limit access to justice for millions. Protecting public health, housing, and education is essential to ensuring equitable access to legal rights. Lawmakers must prioritize people over profits. #AccessToJustice #Equity #FundOurFuture #Blog
