Welcome to the fortieth edition of our newsletter, your essential resource as you navigate the rich landscape of nonprofit careers in finance, human resources, operations, and leadership. Nonprofit work presents unique challenges and unparalleled opportunities for deep engagement and substantial personal growth. This fortieth edition highlights Nonprofit Operations job postings that provide valuable insights that foster genuine engagement. This week, we are releasing the 30-day posting, which includes a two-year financial analysis, while the 60-day option adds a three-year analysis plus board and staff demographics. This transparency supports candidates in assessing alignment with the organization’s mission and values, attracting purpose-driven talent committed to equity, inclusion, and sustainability. Last week’s thirty-ninth edition highlighted that unlike annual reports, which provide a retrospective look at a nonprofit’s financial and demographic data, Nonprofit Operations offers nonprofits the chance to speak directly to prospective candidates about where they are now and where they are going. It allows organizations to share the stories behind their numbers—acknowledging the need for greater board diversity to reflect their communities or discussing the steps they take to build financial reserves after learning hard lessons during the pandemic. This platform encourages transparency, enabling nonprofits to outline their challenges and their strategies for improvement, attracting skilled candidates aligned with the organization’s mission and ready to contribute to its future growth in equity, inclusion, and financial sustainability. #NonprofitExcellence?? #CareerGrowth?? #ImpactfulWork https://lnkd.in/evbg-sGV

Driving Financial Stability and Organizational Growth: Strategic Leadership in Finance and HR
关于我们
As a fractional CFO and CHRO across various organizations, I have been deeply involved in strategic and operational management, collaborating closely with senior management to refine accounting processes, direct grant budgeting, and perform detailed financial analysis. My efforts have focused on streamlining operations, strengthening financial planning, enhancing strategic decision-making, significantly boosting organizational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines. I have developed and implemented comprehensive financial and HR strategies that foster sustainability and growth. This includes updating personnel policies and creating efficient hiring processes that support the broader needs of the organizations I've worked with. Additionally, I have secured substantial funding through programs such as the Employee Retention Credit and the Payroll Protection Plan, which has been crucial in securing financial aid and maintaining compliance. My expertise spans various skills, including financial accounting, budget management, strategic leadership, and interim management services, covering economic and HR dimensions. However, I recognize the importance of continuous improvement and see the potential for growth in risk assessment, revenue generation, and equity and inclusion initiatives. My experience highlights the critical role of fractional CFOs and CHROs in maintaining financial stability and driving organizational growth. #Fractional CFO #Fractional CHRO

This guide does a great job of helping foundations build equity into their grant application processes. While I understand the desire to adjust existing models to be more equitable, sometimes organizations need to rethink programs entirely for the benefit of everyone. From hiring to grant writing, equitable outcomes emerge from an internal conscious leadership decision with the end goal of achieving said outcomes. #Nonprofit #Finance #Justice

Alternative funding methods that allow for more immediate attention are critical for nonprofits responding to real-time issues in the face of a crisis. In a world where environmental factors are contributing to a rise in natural disasters, for example, organizations being able to tap into emergency funds is a critical element of building networks of community through mutual solidarity and support. #Nonprofit #Finance #Justice

Adding my voice?to the many who have shared about the KILL NONPROFITS BILL to share with others. The KILL NONPROFITS BILL will go to a full House vote this Thursday AM (11/21/24). It will only need a simple majority to pass this time. This means it's easier for than last week, when they failed to get the needed 2/3 majority to jam it thru via “fast track” process. Last week, 52 Democrats actually voted YES to helping Republicans empower Trump to be our Dictator on Day 1. If those 52 Dems vote NO this week, we have a chance of defeating this bill, and live to fight again soon. LET'S UNLEASH THE POWER OF OUR CIVIL SOCIETY IN SELF-DEFENSE AND FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COMMUNITIES AND OUR COUNTRY. YOU CAN HELP defeat this bill with 2 easy actions BEFORE THIS THURSDAY: (1) Join 35,000 Americans who have signed the petition against H.R. 9495. Sign now: https://lnkd.in/gAupWREr (2) Call one or more of the 52 Democrats who voted FOR the bill last week to urge them to vote no this Thursday! Look below to see if you are represented by one of these 52 Democrats who voted YES. Call or email their Capitol Hill office ASAP! (If you or your donors have relationships with them or their staff, reach out personally!) Dial the Capitol Switchboard to be connected to your Rep's office: (202) 224-3121. Black leadership has been critical to the climate justice movement since its inception. If we don't focus closely on the origins of this movement, we risk losing the valuable insight brought forth from topics such as the overlap of socioeconomic and environmental disparities due to what is described as environmental racism. When addressing environmental issues, we must look at the ways socioeconomic factors and racial disparities affect the ways different groups are affected by climate issues. To ignore such a critical element does a disservice to the movement as a whole. #Nonprofit #BlackLeadership #Justice #Culture
