We're pleased to welcome Charodon to our portfolio. This Beaune-based producer was founded in 2010 by Louis Vallet, whose Gevrey-Chambertin-based family has deep roots in Burgundy. Louis brings both local and global expertise to this project, as prior to 2010, he worked in Burgundy and internationally. All land is leased on long-term contracts and farming is organic. Winemaking is largely hands-off, with natural yeast fermentation and long aging in French oak. These wines are characterized by not only their upfront appeal, but also their ability to evolve and gain complexity.

Thomas Palauqui has recently been promoted to California Sales Manager, leading the sales team statewide. Many of you know him from his previous position in NorCal sales. Here's what he has to say about his new role: "I am honored and excited to take on the California Sales Manager role. What excites me most is the chance to lead this fantastic team and getting to know the wide range of amazing partners we are lucky to work with all across the state, while also forging new relationships. With this dynamic team and our accomplished client base, it sets the stage for some awesome collaboration. I'm confident we'll not only meet, but exceed expectations, building on strong connections while reaching new heights together." We had to ask Thomas what wine he's passionate about right now: "I am very excited about one of our newest producers, Domaine Mayard, and it's not just another Châteauneuf-duPape! This estate has quickly gained recognition in the French sommelier community, which I follow closely, being from there. Their vineyards feature 80-120-year-old Grenache vines, and they use concrete, wood, and stainless steel vats for their vinification process, with native yeasts and minimal sulfur. The results are outstanding wines that show a lot of finesse and elegance while standing out in a good way for their exceptional quality and the estate's unique approach to winemaking."

The talented Benjamin Gras is #14 on the list with his 2020 Domaine Santa Duc Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Crau Ouest from a one-hectare parcel planted in the 1930s. It is one of Chateauneuf’s most storied terroirs.
