The Marshall Teacher Residency is a one-year, accelerated teacher preparation program providing hands-on clinical practice, personalized mentoring, in-classroom coaching, and a collaborative community. In just 12 months, become a credentialed teacher and receive priority hiring at more than 20 California districts and public charter networks! We provide affordable tuition and a living stipend, with state grants and other financial aid options to cover your tuition. As one of the most comprehensive residencies for aspiring teachers in the nation, we provide a pathway to Single Subject Teaching, Multiple Subject Teaching, & Education Specialist Instruction. What an amazing opportunity we had earlier this week to share space with the Los Angeles Teacher Preparation Pathway community! Great discussions were held with paraeducators and support staff, who we built community with and had the opportunity to learn more about their individual passions for becoming the future teachers are communities need ??
I’m feeling energized and hopeful for the future after this week’s Los Angeles Teacher Preparation Pathway (LATPP) community event! Aspiring teachers from Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, Burbank Unified School District, Green Dot Public Schools California, and Alliance College-Ready Public Schools met with leaders from Los Angeles County Office of Education, Alder Graduate School of Education, California State University-Dominguez Hills, and Marshall Teacher Residency to build community and learn about different credentialing pathways that are available. Over the next four years, our team at TNTP will support 450+ paraeducators and support staff to become TK-12 teachers who are well prepared to serve the needs of multilingual learners in Los Angeles County. Over the next few weeks we're all gonna see a lot of first day of school pictures for kiddos, and I wanted to share mine because this day means so much to me. I bought this dress back in January to wear to my first day of my new job. I didn't have one yet, but I was trying to think positive at a time when that felt really hard. I've been through a lot on this journey to wearing this dress and to becoming a teacher. Students won't be on campus for another two weeks, but in the meantime, I am exactly where i need to be: reading, learning, and being me. (Thank you Marshall Teacher Residency for giving me this opportunity!)
