Last week I had the pleasure of traveling to Bethesda and Marriott International to present on our Capstone innovation project for the Marriott's Emerging Leaders Program. I'm one of about 2,000 associates across our company who have had this opportunity over the last 10 years. My cohort included leaders from HR, F&B, Operations and Sales from across North America. We worked over eight months to ideate, survey, design, test at various hotels, iterate, and then present the results of our challenge. We competed in two rounds against sixteen other cohorts, and I'm thrilled that we won it all! It was exciting to present our hard work to this tremendous group of colleagues and we look forward to the results being rolled out across our hotels in the future. Thank you to Robert Schmeck, Dianna Feinberg, Brandon Mayer, Evan Empey for supporting me throughout the program. I just had an amazing walking tour of Old Town, Alexandria led by Timothy Rose with Alexandria History Tours! It was a great way to learn more about our small but mighty town and it’s rich history. I am excited to announce Brigette Bienvenu has joined The Tampa EDITION team as the Director of Sales & Marketing. Brigette brings a wealth of luxury experience to her new role, having recently worked as the Market Director of Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, Miami. During her tenure, she managed topline revenue for two resorts, leading to record-breaking revenues and high associate engagement. Prior to her most recent role, Brigette was the Director of Sales & Marketing for the W Hollywood Hotel & Residences and the W Fort Lauderdale. Visiting Penn State for Alumni in the Classroom was truly special this year. Engaging with talented students and sharing insights alongside 100+ industry professionals (and my good colleagues!) was inspiring. Their passion and energy showcase the endless possibilities ahead. The future is bright for hospitality! Adding to the significance was experiencing this with my daughter, a proud Penn State student. Seeing the campus and the Penn State School of Hospitality Management through her perspective and reflecting on her journey brings everything full circle.
