The College of Nursing has received a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to support an expansion of its simulation center and equipment investment. The funds provided for the Health Education and Retention Optimization through Equipment and Simulation (HEROES) project will enable the college to address a nursing shortage in Wisconsin and across the nation by meeting its goal of preparing 5,000 entry level nurses to enter the workforce in the next decade. https://lnkd.in/gMWqCasP

Marquette’s Nurse-Midwifery?Program has left a lasting impact on thousands of families over the past 31 years. Midwives play a crucial role in supporting patients through some of the most significant and vulnerable moments in their lives. Drs. Jessica Zemlak and Jacqueline Christianson took their research abroad to the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Research Congress in Singapore, joining more than 800 nurse researchers, students, clinicians and leaders around the world. The College of Nursing and the Institute for Palliative and End of Life Care will host the 2024 James Wake Memorial Lecture on Friday, Nov. 8. This biennial lecture is held in memory of James Wake, chaplain and husband of Dr. Madeline Wake, former provost of Marquette University. Dr. Candi K.
