The NMDSI AI Ethics Symposium brought dozens of thought leaders to our campus to discuss one of the most important topics in the technology landscape. I'm thankful to Jonathan Stark, Ed.D. and Michael Zimmer for organizing this event, and to keynote speakers Alondra Nelson and Casey Fiesler for sharing their expertise.

Both are created by people, and when it comes to both research and technology, the feelings of and impact on those people should be a consideration.” – Casey Fiesler Thanks to our afternoon keynote speaker, Dr. Fiesler, for closing out our symposium out with “When Data is People,” considering ethics, privacy, and ownership for research and AI uses of public data.
