Congratulations to Jeff Carron who successfully defended his dissertation "Examining Early-Career Principals' Experiences with Coaching and Self-Efficacy Development in Wisconsin Public Schools" on March 19, 2025. His committee included Dr. Jeff LaBelle, S.J., Dr. Eric Dimmitt (chair), and Dr. Sara Burmeister.

Boon Nakhapakorn successfully defended his dissertation "Influences of Meditation on the Emotional Intelligence of Participants at Buddha Haksa Temple" on February 27, 2025. His committee included Dr. Jeff LaBelle, S.J. (chair), Dr. Eric Dimmitt, and Dr. Mette Baran.

Two PhD students from the department of educational policy and leadership participated in the Graduate School Poster Competition on Wednesday, February 19th. Janet Namara Gabone presented on "Telling Stories with Black Immigrant Women in Academia: A Narrative Inquiry." Saúl Lopez presented on "Shifting the HSI Narrative: Latinx Students at a Midwestern HIS."

Learn more about how Sarah Wiseman, a graduate with a master’s in school counseling from the department of counselor education and counseling psychology, became the first student from Marquette to become an ASCA-Certified School Counselor. The certification is designed to recognize school counselors who meet high standards of education, experience, and professional development in the field.

Congratulations to Saul López, doctoral student in educational policy and leadership, who received a 2025 American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) Doctoral Student Award. The AAHHE Doctoral Student Award recognizes doctoral students who aspire to join the academy and demonstrate their academic accomplishments and servant leadership at their university.
