On November 4th Maroon Tiger Gaming welcomed The Crockett Foundation to the AUC, giving 45 boys and girls a historic tour and insight on scholastic esports. In a couple weeks we’ll be having our first virtual panel with Blacks at Microsoft. Super excited to present this to our community so that we learn from what everyone has to say! Yesterday Maroon Tiger Gaming welcomed Jonathan Kyle and Uriah Horne, MBA from Intel Corporation in our lab for a Panel and Q/A with our students! At this event students were able to ask questions like what a career in tech looks like for technical and non technical people, where to start, and what being black in the tech industry is like. It was an honor to have them interact with our students and not only learn from them, but relate to someone that looks like them in the tech industry. We would like to announce a new partnership with the Tajiri Reigon and Valentino’s Requiem! They will support us in entering the field of competitive Pokémon via VGC, Go, and Unite! This past week Maroon Tiger Gaming, Spelman esports, and Morgan state esports were invited by The Cxmmunity Foundation and the UNCF to attend the HBCU UNCF Tech summit. We were in San Francisco for 4 days and got to experience so much during the trip! Our week was filled with great talks and new information. While in San Fran we attended GDC, Pixar studios, and a mixer hosted by Filipinos at Riot Games. I met a lot of new and great faces such as Akhil Modali, M.S, Walter W., and Carl Varnado, but was glad to see familiar faces like Samantha Garcia, Kibwe Diop, Timothy Byrd, Hatim Mansori, and Stephen Stagliano.
