I’m deeply thankful for my husband, kids, family, and friends who bring joy and love to my days. ????I’m grateful for my clients and the work that gives me fulfillment, purpose, and peace. ??I am grateful that my second book which is being released tomorrow will help high school and college students around the world find fulfillment in their careers. ??♀?Above all, I am grateful for being whole, for knowing my worth and my value, and for feeling reassured every day that I am exactly where I’m meant to be, even when life feels uncertain. ??For those celebrating Thanksgiving in the U.S. and everyone around the world, I invite you to reflect on what gratitude means to you. ??If you’re in a season of abundance, soak it in. ???And if you’re facing challenges and stormy fronts—whether from a job loss, illness, or a lack of fulfillment—know this: the universe has your back. When people are fired or laid off- do you feel awkward reaching out to them? This picture is the result of someone who put their own awkwarnesss aside and believed in the power of empathy. I met Marcella Raymond when we were both working in TV news in Dayton, Ohio. We worked opposite shifts. She was the morning anchor. I was an afternoon/ evening reporter. So we didn’t know each other well and weren’t even “work friends.” Then one day I was fired. Gone. Out the door. Marcella called me and said, “Do you want to grab a cup of coffee?” We did. She didn’t ask me what happened. She didn’t want the “gossip” around it. She merely listened and helped me move forward. Now, nearly 30 years later we remain friends and she is the first person I call anytime I’m in Chicago. We’re both out of the TV news business but still support each other through life and work. So the next time someone is fired or laid off- if you care at all, reach out and just be there. Here it is...28% of Americans are looking for a new job, according to The Federal Reserve. Some are unemployed arleady. Some are employed, but concerned about losing their jobs, and others simply aren't fulfilled. Further, Job Satisfaction continues to deteriorate. Satisfaction is meeting of expectations, needs and desires. It's immediate and may be temporary. That is why satisfaction fluctuates so much. Contrary to satisfaction, fulfillment is something more profoud. It's a deep sense of purpose or meaning with alignment to your values, passions and aspirations. Fulfillment is long lasting.
