We’re excited to share that Wraparound Services has partnered with Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to bring a little extra care to our families! Thanks to the generosity of Alexion’s USMA Medical Excellence Team, led by Rachel McDonnell, we received an incredible donation of 120 care packages. ?? Each package included long underwear, gloves, chapstick, and pencil kits—essentials that make a big difference during this season. These thoughtful items have been distributed to families during coat drives and our "Welcome to MPS" newcomer orientation events. Thank you, Alexion, and Rachel McDonnell, for supporting our community! Together, we’re making Marlborough warmer and brighter this winter. ??

We are so grateful for the recent donation of $2,575 in gift cards from the dedicated staff at Boston Scientific to support students in need through our Wraparound Services. This thoughtful contribution came directly from employees who are members of Boston Scientific’s Inclusive Employee Resource Groups, HOLA and SAIL, showcasing their passion for giving back to the community. ?? HOLA: Celebrates Hispanic heritage while fostering networking, leadership, and personal growth. Members contribute to Boston Scientific’s culture and growth by improving communities and promoting the company’s core values. ?? SAIL: A network of employees dedicated to diversity and well-being, advancing professional development, business growth, and citizenship for employees and communities of South Asian descent. Yesterday, over 50 Marlborough High School students passionate about STEM had an incredible opportunity to visit Boston Scientific’s Marlborough headquarters here in #MarlboroughMA! The day began with a special commute as Boston Scientific picked up our staff and students on their shuttle buses, and ended with a delicious lunch and group photo. Throughout the day, students were given an interactive tour of the facility, participated in hands-on learning with cutting-edge biotech technology, and attended a dynamic panel discussion where Boston Scientific professionals shared their career journeys. Students asked thoughtful questions that left our staff and the Boston Scientific team thoroughly impressed, and the entire experience sparked their interest in STEM careers! ???? This incredible field trip was made possible through the efforts of Yanine Garcia-Quezada, Principal Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Boston Scientific, and our MPS Supervisor of Science Stephanie Gill, who worked tirelessly to coordinate the event. A huge thank you to both of them for making this day unforgettable. Boston Scientific has long been an outstanding partner to the Marlborough community, continuously finding ways to support our schools. Last year, they generously donated winter clothing to families in need and visited classrooms to introduce students to career opportunities right in their own backyard. Their commitment to our students is truly remarkable! We are incredibly grateful to Boston Scientific for their time, resources, and continued partnership in providing our students with exceptional learning experiences! ?? The importance of businesses investing in students cannot be overstated. We were thrilled to see this in action when Boston Scientific, through their HOLA program, engaged with our Marlborough High School sophomores and juniors in June. Volunteers from Boston Scientific visited MHS on June 6th and met with four different chemistry classes, showcasing the unique opportunities available to our students. Their visit aimed to increase student interest in and knowledge about STEM careers. The volunteers guided the students through a STEM challenge (straw & marshmallow tower) and then presented a panel discussion about their roles at Boston Scientific and their career journeys. Students also had the chance to ask questions and interact with the multilingual volunteers. One student shared, “I liked when the volunteers talked about what they did and their own experiences. This made me feel more comfortable and they made life outside of high school seem way more real.” Another student expressed their enthusiasm for the challenge, saying, “The tower building, I love overcoming challenges and building things.” These experiences are invaluable in sparking student interest in STEM careers and providing real-world insights. We are incredibly grateful to Boston Scientific and their HOLA program for their time and resources. As one student aptly said, “Thank you so much for coming! I enjoyed getting to learn more about STEM careers and gaining insight into the different roles at Boston Scientific.” Marlborough, Massachusetts is renowned as a life science hub, and we are proud to have one of Boston Scientific's headquarters right here in our community. Their continuous support of Marlborough Public Schools is just one example of how businesses can make a significant impact.
