For those who aren’t aware yet, we have been undergoing a brand shift and product pivot over the past few months! We’ve rebranded the company to Markit AI, aiming to better reflect our focus on empowering anyone to become an extraordinary SMS marketer using AI. There’s a growing notion around the term “own your audience,” which emphasizes that businesses and creators need to move away from social media platforms if they want true control over their audience. I believe that text messaging is poised to be the biggest winner in this space. Here’s a product demo where I navigate the Techstars Boston Alumni account, giving you a sense of how our customers use Markit to grow and engage their audience with SMS. I also highlighting our brand-new ticketing integrations feature, which I’m super excited about. While Markit AI is no longer solely a ticketing platform, we remain highly event-focused! 9 years later! Surreal to come back and be on stage yesterday at #ISSRDC here in Boston for the #WhereAreTheyNow Fireside Chat! ?? 'Chang shared that his experience in the annual competition showed him the importance of taking a chance. “I don’t need to be the most experienced person in the room. I just need to be the one who tries to do it.”' Some history. The ISS R&D conference was last held in Boston in 2015, where I co-authored research and presented a proposal for the first DNA experiment to be conducted in space (with Thiago Bandeira). This was at the first ever Genes in Space competition (which has continued every year since). As a 17 year old, it was my first exposure to innovation, I got to listen to Elon Musk talk about SpaceX, and I got to see firsthand the incredible impact of technology on the world. It's safe to say that was my inspiration to pursue engineering at Tufts University and eventually entrepreneurship as a whole. Funny enough, miniPCR bio, who built the tech to conduct DNA experiments in space, was also a #startup (similar to the current age to Markit Social) when they were thrust into the national spotlight to bring #biotech into #space! They had just recently graduated from MassChallenge back then! Goes to show just how long MassChallenge has been helping founders. Thank you to Sebastian Kraves and Ezequiel Alvarez Saavedra for enabling this all these years ago and giving me that life changing call that we were selected. It's so important to remember that one of our number one responsibilities as entrepreneurs is to pave the way for the next generation. This can start as early as supporting ambitious students in high school. It's incredible to see the impact that opportunities at a young age can have on people's lives. Just look at how successful my fellow panelists are Anna-Sophia Boguraev, Kaylie Hausknecht, and Aarthi Vijayakumar. They're doing WAY cooler stuff than I am!
