?? https://trib.al/juGnyxB "Soooo, who said taking my Rams salary in bitcoin was dumb again?" That was Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Wednesday reminding people that he took his 2021 salary in bitcoin. The Super Bowl champion converted his $750,000 salary into cryptocurrency in a deal with Cash App. Beckham, who played for the Los Angeles Rams at the time and now plays for the Miami Dolphins, made the move at a time when many athletes first started publicly touting crypto and other digital assets.

?? https://trib.al/Bznhrwk Dear Moneyist: “I’m young, debt-free and happy-go-lucky. Though by no means would I consider myself financially literate, I’ve been able to save, max out my 401(k), and contribute to a Roth IRA. My boyfriend has had a very different life. He’s been married and has two children from that relationship. His education has not made much difference, as he is a business owner (with side jobs to supplement his income). Currently, I don’t own my own home. Lately, we’ve been discussing the future, including marriage. I’ve been advised by several people to run for the hills. Any advice or input you can give me would be much appreciated. I want to protect my assets.”

Crypto is up. Way up. And it's thanks to the 2024 election. There's a lot to unpack: A pro-crypto President-Elect. A new government agency with a meme coin. And a super PAC that spent more than $100 million to elect crypto-friendly politicians. Here’s what it all means for the future, and your wallet. ?? https://trib.al/AH5231I We’ve all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But is it also quickly becoming the most unaffordable? A newly released study from the personal-finance site FinanceBuzz found that breakfast menu-item prices at 10 of the most popular fast-food chains have increased by 53% since 2019. And in some cases, the spikes are much higher. #Commute #jobs #fastfood #inflation #marketwatch

?? https://trib.al/qK3WcBX An increase in for-sale listings prompted more home buyers — particularly first-timers — to return to the market, despite elevated mortgage rates. Applications for mortgages in the latest week rose in spite of the 30-year rate inching up for the fourth week in a row to the highest level in four months, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.

?? https://trib.al/JZxzVnQ Stephen Richards received a letter in May from the Biden administration promising to cancel his $79,000 in student debt. Months later, he’s still waiting for the loans to disappear — and Donald Trump’s election win has made the situation feel more urgent. Pressure is building on the Biden administration to process promised student-loan cancellations in its waning days.

?? https://trib.al/2JXYcKb There’s good news for college seniors: It might be easier for new graduates to land their first job this spring than it was in previous years. Employers plan to hire 7.3% more new graduates from the class of 2025 than they did from the class of 2024, according to a job-outlook survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

How will Donald Trump's proposed tariffs affect the housing market? #Housing #economy #tariffs #jobs #marketwatch

?? https://trib.al/6yriXOH President-elect Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to bring down high prices. If implemented, two of his flagship policy proposals could actually have the opposite effect. The former and now-future president has proposed a 20% tariff on U.S. imports that is already expected to raise prices for consumers. But economists are warning that a second signature Trump policy — a plan to deport millions of undocumented immigrants from the U.S. — could also push up prices.
