Would you expect a client's billboard to be the top performing acquisition source in one location and then a complete waste of money in any other local placement??? ? When we started working with our casino client in 2018, the first thing we did was measure the impact of their advertising spend. We wanted to know what money was well spent and what could be trimmed from their budget. ? They loved billboards, and after our first round of hand counting player club applications, we found that over 60% cited the billboard with a $20 free play offer as the top reason they found out about their casino and came in. ? Wanting to further that success, we wanted to test to see if other billboard locations had the same impact. So we removed the free play offer from the main interstate location right before their location going east and swapped it for a food ad for their restaurant. We then tried the $20 free play ad on a similar westbound billboard. Then we tried it on another main road that comes into their location from another direction. Finally, we did all food ads for a quarter. ? The findings were very obvious. The $20 free play billboard was the top performer at that one billboard location. However all the other locations performed so poorly that they were within a percentage point of when their was no free play billboard at all.

What is Jaguar doing?! Everyone is critical of their new ad for good reason. However, this might be all part of their plan. This could be as simple as a failed ad campaign that misses terribly. It also could be possible that this is just step one in their plan. Let's pretend this is a mastermind marketing plan instead of a disaster. Here's how it would play out. Step 1: Get as much attention as possible. Social media algorithms distribute content based on engagement, and sadly, they don't care if that engagement is positive or negative. We can see evidence of this being part of the plan by how they are responding to commenters on X. Doubling down that this ad is their intention. They expected these negative reactions to reach as many people as possible. Getting the engagement will also put their content higher in these same people's feeds, giving them an opportunity to win them back. Step 2: Seize their moment. At this time, more people are curious about what their new shift will look like. What will the first full car reveal show? While you could argue that most of that interest is ready to criticize it, what if they pulled it off and won back the public's opinion? We can certainly say more people care about the next Jaguar car advertisement than before this ad. So, let's not be so quick to give out F grades on this campaign before we see it play out. Besides, this company is also the same one that beat out the jungle cat at SEO.

Exciting News as We Close August! ?? August brought us incredible opportunities to collaborate on significant projects. We always enjoy working with Walk the Talk America to develop new content that addresses mental health and responsible gun ownership, launch a survey, and continue to manage their marketing efforts. We're also thrilled to start with Dr. Gala True and The Armory Project. We will focus on enhancing branding, refining website content, and setting up a social media posting schedule that balances quality content with posting frequency. We recently increased our role with The Life Change Center, adding email marketing and other responsibilities to our social media management. We also helped Willem Bos create marketing materials to pitch, land, and market commercial real estate listings in the Bay Area. One of the materials we created for him is attached to this post!

We're going back and looking at some of our favorite projects over the years. This one was designing promotions using the gaming software from Aristocrat to create bonus promotions connected to the player's play. We did this for a casino client from 2018 until their sale in 2023. This project stood out because it merged math, analytics, and creativity. We navigated various challenges, like outdated gaming software, to unlock the full potential of the casino's promotional capabilities. We had the opportunity to develop engaging campaigns with unique themes, moving beyond typical promotions like bingo and rolling dice. Creating projection models based on player data and seeing them hit the mark post-launch was incredibly rewarding.
