Analysis in a past AxessPoint has shown that volumes on month end are growing at a rate outpacing the rest of the month. To handle these increased flows, traders are turning more to #automation tools and Portfolio Trading. As #PortfolioTrading becomes an increasingly important tool for trading bonds, we see a trend of much higher ADV on month end compared to ex-month end. From January 2024 to February 2025, we observed that in five out of the eight months analyzed, the month end ADV was at least double the ex-month end. April 2024 and Feb 2025 were particularly noteworthy, where ADV at month end is more than 11 billion.
