Transmission Engineer

JDRoss Energy is looking to speak with experienced Transmission Engineer for a role with our customer a renewable developer, asset owner. The ideal candidate will have utility-scale transmission and interconnection experience, whether with a Utility, ISO/RTO, Developer, or Consulting company.

Duties include:

1. Assist in developing, acquiring, and operating power generation projects, focusing on electric transmission and interconnection.
2. Prepare, submit, and manage generator interconnection requests.
3. Perform power flow analysis and review associated models and studies.
4. Interpret interconnection and transmission studies conducted by utilities and consultants.
5. Develop strategies to enter new markets and select zones for greenfield development.
6. Understand key congestion issues across various ISOs/RTOs.
7. Support the M&A team on transmission, interconnection, and congestion issues.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
2. Experienced in the interconnection processes across various ISOs/RTOs, with preferred experience in WECC and CAISO.
3. Experience with load flow analysis tools (TARA, PSSE, or PowerWorld
4. Familiarity analysis tools such as PROMOD or Gridview.
