??Marion County Summer Intern Highlight ?? Hello Marion County! Meet Blake Barnes, the summer intern for the Community Services department. Born and raised in Ocala, FL, Blake just graduated from Forest High School and will be attending the University of Central Florida in the fall. He is a member of the Marching Knights, and plays cymbals in their drumline! Blake joined the Community Services team this summer to learn more about how the county is serving homeless and at-risk individuals through our programs and governmental action. He eventually wants to work in fields relating to law and politics. We hope he experiences the fulfilling nature of the public service sector, and we wish him luck on his journey! ?? Marion County Summer Intern Highlight ?? Hello Marion County! Meet another one of our summer interns: Adam Khan. He is interning with our Human Resources team here at Marion County. Adam was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and raised in Waterbury, CT for 17 years before moving to Ocala four years ago. He graduated from West Port High School and is currently pursuing his A.A. in Computer Science at the College of Central Florida, with plans to transfer to UCF to obtain his Bachelor's degree. During his internship at Marion County, Adam has learned a lot about marketing, recruiting, and communications. He hopes to gain more valuable experience and continue to grow in his field. Hunter lives in Marion County, Florida, and is a proud graduate of Lake Weir High School. Throughout his high school years, he developed a strong interest in technology and computer science, participating in various tech-related clubs and projects. While interning at Marion County, Hunter is eager to gain hands-on experience and learn from seasoned IT professionals. He aspires to leverage his education and skills to create innovative solutions and contribute to advancements in the tech industry. She was born in Ocala, FL, but lived in Dunnellon, FL most of her life. However, Payton did make a permanent move to Ocala just a few years ago. She graduated from Forest High School in 2023. After graduation she has been trying different professional avenues to help find the right fit! While interning at Marion County, Payton is getting an in-depth look at Human Resources. She is beaming with pride to have the opportunity to learn from such professionals. Department here at Marion County. Sean was born in Gainesville, FL, but has lived in Ocala, FL most of his life. He graduated from Forest High School in 2020. He then achieved his A.A. from the College of Central Florida in 2022. Sean transferred to the University of South Florida and is not about to graduate with his B.S. in Computer Science this December! While interning at Marion County, Sean is getting a jump start on his professional career. He began this internship because he wanted to gain experience and learn more about I.T. work flow and processes. He is looking forward to graduation and moving into his professional career with experience and confidence! Welcome to our team, Sean!
