A little late sharing this, but the news is still relevant! Thank you Megayacht News for spreading the word about our Foreign Trade Zone status. That's right, both Fifth Avenue Landing and our shipyard in San Diego have been FTZ-approved! This is big news for the West Coast—it allows foreign flagged yachts for sale to moor in San Diego without having to pay hefty import duties and fees unless they secure a U.S. buyer.?With amazing weather all year round, San Diego is THE BEST place for owners to sell their yachts.

As part of the Water Emergency Transportation Authority’s (WETA) ongoing commitment to sustainability, they’ve released a bid to work on the mid-life systems and structures refurbishment for all four Gemini Class vessels. These vessels have played a significant role in reducing emissions in the SF Bay, offering a lower-footprint option for traveling throughout the Bay Area. As part of the Gemini Class Clean Air Conversion Project that kicked off in 2021, all four vessels were upgraded with Tier 4 engines which are the cleanest on the market and resulted in a substantial decrease in air pollution. Marine Group Boat Works has had the pleasure of working on the Gemini Class and is dedicated to continued partnership in improving the environment through actively working on this new bid. We’re currently seeking SBEs and DBEs to join us, so please contact [email protected] if you’re interested or have any questions. If you’re not certified as a SBE or DBE, please reach out so we can walk you through how to become certified. View the bid information here: https://lnkd.in/gzNCX2xp
