Honoring Marines by Educating their Children
关于我们
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is the Nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children. The Scholarship Foundation provides funding for post-high school education to all qualified children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen in need. Scholarship recipients are children of honorably discharged, retired, and active-duty Marines, and particular attention is given to those whose parent has been wounded or killed in action. Since its inception in 1962, the Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than 50,000 scholarships, worth upwards of $185,000,000, to the children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen. In the current academic year, the Scholarship Foundation awarded $10,000,000 to 2,600 children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen.

In honor of the 250th Marine Corps Birthday this year, we're spotlighting the birth of the Marine Corps at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, PA. On November 10th, 1775, the Continental Congress met here to approve a resolution forming two battalions of Marines, laying the foundation for what would become the United States Marine Corps! It was also known as the sole recruiting location for Marines throughout the country. While the original Tun Tavern burned down in 1781, a replica now stands at the National Museum of The Marine Corps, honoring the birthplace of the Corps and its 250-year legacy of service. #USMC250
