#Marines with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment move up a ridgeline north of A Shau Valley during Operation Dewey Canyon in 1969. Today, we honor the approximately 450,000 Marines who served during the Vietnam War. From 1965 to 1973, they fought in some of the Corps' most legendary battles, including Khe Sanh, Hue City, Operation Dewey Canyon, and Operation Starlite. The lessons learned in Vietnam helped shaped the Marine Corps' warfighting doctrine for years to come.
