Cervical Cancer Awareness Month is a time to prioritize education, prevention, and care. We provide our community with the resources and knowledge needed to reduce the risk of cervical cancer. Throughout the year we offer free cervical cancer and HPV screenings. Here are a 3 important things to keep in mind: 1. Early detection saves lives – Regular Pap smears and HPV tests can identify changes before they become serious. 2. Prevention is powerful – The HPV vaccine is a safe and effective way to protect against the types of HPV that cause most cervical cancers. 3. You’re not alone – Our dedicated team is here to support you with screenings, vaccinations, and personalized care. To schedule a screening at our Women’s health Center, or if you have any questions, call us at (415) 339-8813.

Flu season can be challenging, especially for those who face financial or work pressures that make it hard to stay home when sick. These tips, put together with the help from the CDC, aim to protect you and others, while recognizing these challenges: - Get vaccinated annually: The best defense against the flu is prevention. A yearly flu vaccine reduces your risk of getting sick and helps protect those around you. - Practice good hygiene. Wash your hands often with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your face to prevent germs from spreading. - Cover coughs and sneezes: Use a tissue or your elbow, and dispose of tissues in the trash. Encourage this behavior in shared spaces. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces: Regularly sanitize door knobs, desks, counters, and shared equipment, especially in high-traffic areas. - Stay home if you can: If you’re feeling unwell, staying home can help prevent spreading the flu. For those who can’t afford to take unpaid leave, consider wearing a mask, maintaining distance, and minimizing close contact with others. - Advocate for supportive workplace policies: Employers can help reduce flu spread by offering paid sick leave, flexible schedules, or remote work options. We can reduce the impact of the flu season while acknowledging the realities many people face.
