Over the past decade, the Marietta Country Club (MCC) ThanksGiving Charity Classic has become one of our Club’s hallmark traditions, symbolizing the spirit of philanthropy and community engagement. Each fall, we host a golf tournament and silent auction, uniting Members, local leaders, and businesses to support a common cause: uplifting the lives of children in Cobb County. The 11th annual Thanksgiving Charity Classic, held this year, was dedicated to benefiting Marietta Mentoring for Leadership (MFL), an organization that has been transforming the lives of under-resourced, high-potential youth in Cobb County since 2010. Founded by Beverly McAfee and a group of visionary community leaders, MFL empowers students through personalized mentorships, equipping them with the tools to overcome challenges and unlock their full potential. On December 10th, we were proud to present MFL with a check for $175,000—a testament to the generosity of our Members and the dedication of our community. These funds will support MFL's impactful programs, ensuring that young leaders in Marietta continue to receive the guidance and opportunities they need to thrive. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success. Whether you joined us on the course, contributed to the silent auction, or supported in other ways, your efforts played a vital role in continuing this meaningful tradition. Special thanks to the Thanksgiving Charity Classic Committee, chaired by Jack Carlson, for their outstanding leadership and vision, and to the Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) for managing our charitable fund. Chef?Colin's?culinary philosophy revolves around collaborating with purveyors and regional producers to source the finest ingredients?locally and globally.?His culinary style seamlessly integrates his regional upbringing in Jasper, Tennessee?with?a wealth of international influences gathered through a lifetime of travel. We are confident that Chef Colin is the perfect candidate to lead the Club into the future and drive our culinary program to the next level. Welcome, Chef!
