  • Jack Shainman Gallery is pleased to present Becoming Animal, an exhibition of new work by Lyne Lapointe that expands upon her previous representations of the many ways the body—gendered or otherwise—finds resilience, freedom and protection in a world where it is consistently made to feel fragile and ‘othered.’ Inspired by a passage in A Thousand Plateaus, written by French philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, the exhibition title recalls the attitude they describe as being essential to the creative process: ‘becoming animal,’ or, an ability to inhabit different material and ontological perspectives. https://lnkd.in/eJBXMcxz

  • Lisson Gallery presents the first U.S. solo exhibition in over five years by Tatsuo Miyajima, one of Japan’s most celebrated sculptors and installation artists. Known for his innovative use of LED technology to explore Buddhist philosophy, Miyajima’s work investigates themes of time, existence, and the cycles of life and death. In Many Lives, Miyajima employs full-color LEDs that count down from 9 to 1 before resetting to 9 in evolving colors and speeds. Each LED represents an individual ‘Seimei’ with its own rhythm and identity, symbolizing the cycle of life and death as an endless process of rebirth. Together, these elements form a larger interconnected world, evoking the Buddhist concept of samsara and reinforcing the idea that every life, visible or invisible, has value. https://lnkd.in/e6mzunzu

Featuring a selection of graphic works, monoprints, multiples and unique pieces spanning from the early 1960s to 1975, this exhibition, titled ‘Islandscapes,’ focuses on Roth’s printmaking, which accompanied every phase of his life and practice. https://lnkd.in/ePYepsH3

  • Yancey Richardson is pleased to present Facsimile, an exhibition of new work by Sharon Core. Through the meticulous recreation of historical still-life paintings, along with more recent artworks rendered through the medium of photography, her work explores the tension between reality and its photographic representation. In Facsimile, Core expands these themes by subverting her usual process. At the center of Facsimile is a hand-made reproduction of Penn’s 1980 book Flowers, which originated from a commission for Vogue magazine for its annual Christmas edition in 1967. Each year from 1967 to 1973, Penn focused on a different flower—beginning with tulips and moving on to poppies, peonies, roses and other blooms—capturing their ephemeral beauty in various states of perfection and decay. https://lnkd.in/eX8sKD89

Featuring over 100 works from the Mucha Trust Collection, the exhibition traces Mucha’s artistic evolution—from his early training to his rise as a leading figure in the Art Nouveau movement—highlighting his intricate linework, flowing forms, and highly stylized designs that transformed poster art, commercial illustration, and visual aesthetics worldwide. In the 1960s, Mucha’s distinctive style was revived in the vibrant poster art of the counterculture movement, becoming a hallmark of psychedelic rock posters, album covers, comic books, and Japanese?manga. https://lnkd.in/eqvJ7bq5
