For the first time ever, active-duty service members will receive MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD in a groundbreaking study at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Funded by a $4.9 million grant from the Department of Defense, this double-blind placebo trial will explore MDMA’s unique ability to enhance psychological flexibility and healing. With a long history of Veterans advocating for psychedelic-assisted therapy, this research marks a critical moment in the military’s approach to mental health, paving the way for more effective treatments for those still in service. Most people don’t know the name Anton K?llisch, but his work unknowingly set the stage for one of the most studied psychedelic compounds in history. In 1912, while working at Merck, K?llisch synthesized MDMA—without ever realizing its future impact on mental health treatment. Today, we celebrate the birthday of the chemist who started it all. Happy Birthday, Anton! ???? Swipe to learn more!

Today, we’re continuing our brief MAPS From The Past series, featuring Rick Doblin's study, "Dr. Leary’s Concord Prison Experiment: A 34-Year Follow-Up Study" (1998). Doblin’s follow-up study on the Concord Prison Experiment uncovered critical flaws in Timothy Leary’s original claims. While Leary suggested psilocybin dramatically reduced recidivism, Doblin found the data overstated the results due to methodological errors. Doblin’s findings remind us that psychedelics aren’t 'magic bullets'—lasting change requires more than a single experience. Sustained effort and integration are key to unlocking the true potential of psychedelic-assisted therapy. Learn more using the link below: https://lnkd.in/gdiTQFEf

We invite you to join Rick Doblin and Fireside Project's founder Joshua White to discuss some of the most pressing and cutting-edge issues in the psychedelic ecosystem: What does the ideal continuum of care for psychedelic experiences look like? What role should psychedelic coaching and peer support play in the psychedelic field? What's the line between psychedelic-assisted therapy and psychedelic coaching, and why does it matter? They will also discuss the launch of Fireside Project's coaching program and why it may help meet the booming demand for non-clinical psychedelic support. Tune in on MAPS Instagram this Thursday at 5:30PM PST! instagram.com/maps__org/

Conflict is a normal part of a relationship. Amazingly, our society is just coming to terms with that fact. The market has responded; countless books, TED Talks & TikTok videos teach us how to fight & manage conflict. What’s missing is how to do the work of repair after. This, more than knowing how to fight, is what the most successful couples have cracked the code on. This talk explores the art of repair— and will include a conversation between Rick Doblin, Ph.D., and Baya Voce on how MDMA-assisted therapy can help couples deepen their emotional connection and truly move forward together.
