The property sold for $250,000.00, and as part of a partnership with Bequest Builders Inc., Third Federal Savings and Loan provided assistance in the amount of $20,500.00. The City of Maple Heights recently presented BNK Heating and Cooling, LLC with a grant in the amount of $25,000.00 which will be used for exterior enhancements at the property located at 16300 Broadway Avenue. The grant funding is provided through a collaboration between the City of Maple Heights and the Cuyahoga County Department of Development through the Municipal Small Business Initiative. BNK Heating and Cooling is moving from its current location at 4562 W. 130th Street in Cleveland to the old Post Office, located on Broadway within Maple Heights. BNK Heating and Cooling is currently in the process of investing $2,000,000.00 in a full renovation of the old Post Office, updating it to their specifications. The City of Maple Heights received its third Auditor of the State (AOS) Award during a special presentation at Wednesday’s City Council Meeting. The State of Ohio Auditor’s office audits more than 6,000 municipalities each year. Pictured below are (L-R) Mayor Annette M. FAMOUS SUPPLY TO BRING REGIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER TO MAPLE HEIGHTS Famous Supply plans to renovate the recently purchased warehouse located at 5700 Lee Road South, with funding support from Cuyahoga County Council, which is considering a $2 million dollar loan as part of a $41.5 million renovation project, bringing the fifth Regional Distribution Center to the City of Maple Heights. The Distribution Center will bring 83 new jobs to Maple Heights; and Famous Supply has been in business for 91 years, and has never closed a branch. This month, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that Maple Heights earned a $250,000 grant from its Office of Community Oriented Policing Services Hiring Program (COPS). “It's a team effort to get these grants,” said Maple Heights Police Chief Todd Hansen. The grant will provide 75% of entry-level and fringe benefits for three years, providing the MHPD the ability to add two more police officers. While officers handle misdemeanors and more serious crimes, they also serve as family counselors and step in before situations take a turn. "They're there to help. They're here to make a difference. Last evening, Mayor Annette M. Blackwell attended the Cuyahoga Mayors and City Managers’ Annual Dinner honoring Secretary Marcia Fudge with the George V. Voinovich Municipal Service Award. Mayor Blackwell is pictured below with several other Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers. Congratulations to Secretary Marcia Fudge on receiving this honor!

On October 1st, Superintendent Olympia Della Flora and Mayor Annette M. Blackwell presented the 2024 Joint State Addresses for the Maple Heights City Schools and the City of Maple Heights. At the conclusion of the evening, Mayor Blackwell presented two 2024 Businesses of the Year Awards. Last Tuesday, Mayor Annette M. Blackwell and Maple Heights City Schools’ Superintendent Olympia A. Della Flora delivered the Joint State Addresses at Milkovich Middle School. Superintendent Della Flora shared data and details about the most recent State of Ohio Performance Grade Card; and Mayor Blackwell provided City Department project achievements, accolades, and future plans for each department. At the conclusion of the evening, Mayor Blackwell presented two 2024 Business of the Year Awards. Congratulations to Bill Katsaros and family, owners of Work Smart Clothing Factory Outlet Store; and Sam Sparks and family, owners of Mr. Wonderful’s Chicken and Waffles on receiving the 2024 City of Maple Heights Businesses of the Year Awards!
