We're so proud to have been a part of the inaugural Every Woman's Marathon as more than 7,000 women ran through the streets of Savannah this weekend. After the race, they recovered with Maola products at the finish line and inside the Milk Lounge. Congratulations to all the marathoners!

Yesterday, women runners made their way through Savannah during Every Woman’s Marathon. They were met with mile-by-mile entertainment featuring local bands and artists, cheer squads, and more. After crossing the finish line, runners recovered with chocolate milk to help their bodies repair, rebuild and rehydrate. ???? Congratulations to Zach Myers, Maola’s Director of Member Services. Zach was recently?appointed?to the?Maryland’s Dairy Industry Oversight and Advisory Council by Governor Wes Moore. ? The Council helps works to improve and sustain the economic viability of Maryland's dairy industry, while encouraging collaboration among the State agencies responsible for regulating the dairy industry. ? Several Maola farmers also participate on the council to help give a voice to all parts of the Maryland dairy industry! Maryland Department of Agriculture

Thank you to the MilkPEP and GALE teams for the support this past weekend! We got a tremendous amount of runners to join #TeamMilk with us and that means an amazing donation to Girls on the Run International!

On Sunday, we supported runners at the Marine Corps Marathon Organization with more than 16,000 Maola 1% Lowfat Chocolate Milk to help kickstart their recovery after 26.2 hard miles! We're especially proud of our teammate Beth who finished her first ever marathon! Beth, a Sustainability Specialist, helps our farmer-owners develop sustainability plans and acquire resources that allow our farms to create delicious dairy more sustainably (like the products Beth trained with and we gave out Sunday!). Thanks to the teams at MilkPEP and GALE for supporting our activation and the runners in "The People's Marathon."

Congratulations to our corporate communications team. The staff earned ten awards from National Milk Producers Federation during its annual Cooperative Communications Contest. Maola's communicators competed against cooperatives from across the country and took home first place awards for our 2024 Daily Dairy Calendar, our news story on World School Milk Day last September, and our member magazine, the Pipeline's cover design for the first quarter this year.

“The Climate-Smart Commodities Market Program provided our family farm with the vital resources and partnership we needed to improve our soil health,” said Maola Local Dairies farmer-owner Merle Zimmerman, co-owner of Zimmerman’s HillTop Dairy in Danville, Pennsylvania. “Conservation Innovation Fund worked with us to ensure we were successful in meeting our sustainability goals." The program, administered by Conservation Innovation Fund and seeded by a $25 million investment from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities, helps small and underserved farms along the Eastern Seaboard implement climate-smart practices that generate Scope 3 supply chain outcomes to meet the sustainability goals of food and beverage companies. We joined with Starbucks yesterday to maintain a buffer on a Maola farm in Virginia! Thanks to all the Starbucks partners who joined us and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay as we worked to keep this riparian buffer secure and healthy! The work this group did will eventually make a huge impact on the Chesapeake Bay as we all work to make a better dairy supply chain in our own local communities.
