Howstuffworks.com recently reported on the English language’s toughest tongue twisters.?And the winner is . . . “Pad kid poured curd pulled cod.”?I’m not even sure what that sentence means, but try saying it 10 times fast and I guess your tongue ends up in a Half Windsor.? What were some of the other laborious lingual loopers??Here are a few from their list: -“Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked. If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where’s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?” -“How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, and chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would if a woodchuck could chuck wood.” -“Rory the warrior and Roger the worrier were reared wrongly in a rural brewery.” -“A skunk sat on a stump and thunk the stump stunk, but the stump thunk the skunk stunk.” And of course there’s this one: -“MANSI Media’s mightier media mastery means meatier marketing metrics for mindful moguls who make MANSI Media their marketing mates.” Okay, so the last one was not on howthingswork.com’s tongue twister list.?I believe it was not included for two reasons. ?First, we just made it up now.?Second, it would have been the only one that made any sense at all.?I mean, who picks pickled peppers??Don’t you have to pick peppers before you pickle them??And don’t even get me started on woodchuck chucking wood thing.
