Sometimes, a fresh perspective makes all the difference. We recently welcomed a 54-year-old woman struggling with Type 2 diabetes and persistent high blood pressure to our free medical clinic. Despite taking her previously prescribed medications, she wasn't seeing results. By listening closely and conducting thorough testing, we identified the need for a medication change. In just two weeks, her blood pressure significantly improved, and she expressed immense gratitude. She told us she finally felt heard and empowered. One of our patients, a 52-year-old woman with a 10-year history of uncontrolled type 2 diabetes, had consistently struggled with an A1C level above 14. Our Clinic team was able to secure?medication?for her and this past year, she achieved an incredible A1C of 6.5! She's feeling fantastic, reduced her other medications, and truly embraced a healthier lifestyle. ?? Want to help us create more stories like this? Our Linda Nix Clinic team will host the next LiveWell Workshop classes starting Monday, March 24th! LiveWell is a health management program designed for uninsured or underinsured patients facing pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or high blood pressure. We focus on nutrition education and lifestyle modification to empower individuals to take control of their health. This workshop is a collaborative effort between Mansfield Mission Center Linda Nix Clinic and the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA! Powerful partnerships drive meaningful change! Thanks to a generous grant from LyondellBasell, Mansfield Mission Center has been able to significantly impact our community in recent months. We've vaccinated more high-risk patients, provided essential healthcare supplies to diabetic individuals, and distributed over 800 lbs. of food, equating to 694 meals, to families facing food insecurity.
