On Friday, November 8, our Director of Racquets Hyon Yoo along with RSPA Vice President Mark DiChiara presented "The Stresses, Challenges and Coping Mechanisms for Directors of Racquets and Racquets Professionals" at the Racquet Sports Professionals Association's Mid-Atlantic Division fall workshop hosted by Long Reach Tennis Club in Columbia, MD. The presentation focused on understanding the professional's roles and stress factors and provided mental health strategies to avoid burnout. Great job, Hyon & Mark!

Our dedicated greens team led by Will McNeal is currently hard at work on a vital project for the Championship Course on the fairway of hole #18! As part of our commitment to maintaining the highest quality playing conditions, we are removing invasive bermudagrass. Each year we select one contaminated area to address. If left unattended, the bermudagrass will continue to intermix with the bentgrass in the fairways, affecting playability and conditions. All turf, including the bermudagrass, is non-selectively removed. Our team then prepares the area for sod and new bentgrass sod is laid and established. We appreciate the hard work and expertise of our greens team as they undertake this important project!

Yesterday was one of the most delicious days of the year for Manor F&B staff - the new menu tasting! Front of house and administrative staff got the chance to taste the dishes, ask questions, and learn more about the new menu. Executive Chef Tim Harvey's fall lunch and dinner menus feature dishes such as pumpkin-apple cider cake, Korean fried chicken bao buns, autumn harvest salad, turkey meatloaf, and more. Earlier this week, we had the privilege of hosting the NCAA Division 1 Howard University/USF Intercollegiate men's golf tournament. 12 teams went head-to-head on our championship course over 2 days, showcasing the best in collegiate golf. Princeton University took the win with a team score of -12, followed by Loyola University Maryland in second with +3, and Georgetown University in third with +11. Congratulations to all teams on an amazing two days of competition, and we wish our home team Howard University a wonderful fall 2024 golf season! Emnet saw firsthand what her dad does at work every day - preparing for and executing incredible events like weddings, celebrations of life, business meetings, receptions, galas, and more. She also got to meet some of the Manor team! Our front desk staff gave Emnet her own nametag and Manor visor to commemorate the day. Thanks for joining us today, Emnet!
