Wilson's Weekly Word: "Be a Better Coach" One of the best lessons I've learned as a coach is that coaching isn’t a one-way flow of experience. The real power of coaching isn’t about downloading everything I know onto the team—that’s maybe 1% of it. I find that the true magic, the 99%, lies in being a student of my team (students, and employees), learning from each of them in ways I’d never anticipate. It’s like being an information broker. Every practice, every game, every challenge teaches me something unique that I can then pass on. Sometimes it's an insight into resilience, a fresh perspective on problem-solving, or even a reminder of the drive it takes to reach the next level. This constant loop of learning and sharing is what makes coaching so impactful for me in both leadership and in life. The experience and lessons don’t flow just from the top down; they build organically from the individuals and become the foundation of growth, trust, and excellence. I believe effective leading resembles quality coaching, and quality coaching is very similar to excellent parenting. All endeavors are a never-ending cycle of giving, learning, and growing together. One of my favorite things about my role is getting to work with top notch partners to help our sales team be successful.
