Mannington Commercial’s Calhoun (GA) customer service team recently cooked up lots tasty treats for their second annual bake sale. Led by Helen Lumpkin, these clever cooks raised $800 for Voluntary Action Center and gave our associates a wonderful reason to take a snack break. #Flooring?#GreatAssociates #CommunitySupport?#CoreValues?#CompanyYouKeep

One way we put our “Care” company core value into practice is by taking time to learn about our colleagues.?So we thought that St. Patrick’s Day would be the ideal time for us to learn more about Seamus Foody, Residential Business Manager in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland for Amtico (a Mannington Mills company). Here’s what he said… ?How did you get into the flooring business? Because of football (“soccer” to us in the U.S.)! In 1995, my football coach wanted to keep me working local as it would allow me more timing for training and playing with my club so he arranged an interview with a local flooring store. I loved selling, helping customers, and seeing the sale through from the store to a customer’s home. ?Best life lesson? One of my early bosses in the flooring trade taught me, “Out early in the morning and work hard each day. Good things will come your way.” ?Inspired by? My parents, married 53 years and still loving life.?My wife, Mary, and our kids, Lauren and Joshua, too. I’m from a family of nine. Family is everything. ?Favorite hobby? Running. I've run many marathons ranging from half marathons to 10K and 5K races. It’s a fantastic way to stay fit and have a healthy body and mind. ?Involved in your community? I’m a volunteer run director for Ballina’s local walk, run or jog activity that’s part of a worldwide community event called Parkrun, held every Saturday at over 2,000 locations in 23 countries. I also help fundraise for my local football club, Bonniconlon GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association). ?”Truth” you live by at work and home? ? If we all work together we can achieve our goals. Teamwork! ?How are you celebrating St. Patrick’s Day? Heading to our local parade in Ballina with family and friends, and enjoying a nice pint of Guinness. It's amazing to see all of the parades around the world and how Ireland is celebrated for one day. ?What makes Ireland a great place to visit? Very friendly people. Lots of beautiful places to visit. We live on the west coast and are part of the Wild Atlantic Way, one of the longest coastal routes in the world with 1,600 miles of stunning views and beaches for fantastic surfing. Great pubs and great music, too. Visit once and you’ll find yourself planning a return trip because in Ireland, you’re always welcome. #Flooring?#GreatAssociates?#CoreValues #Amtico?#Ireland?#StPatricksDay #CompanyYouKeep

Kudos to Kristin Cox & her Bomba Bears team (including Mannington Mills’ Kimberly Bradshaw, Lucy Hunt, and Tammy Murphy) who just raised over $4,100 as participants in the 34th annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge. This year, 4,380 people raced across Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach into the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean and raised a total of $1.5 million dollars for Special Olympics Delaware. This is the 16th year Kristin has participated in honor of her daughter, Sami (seated here in the center of the group). Well done, Bomba Bears! #Flooring?#GreatAssociates?#CommunitySupport?#SpecialOlympics #CompanyYouKeep?

Recently, Charles Carscallen, Lizbeth Sanchez, Rachel McFry, and Sats Soundararaj represented our company at a “Day in the Nest for Manufacturing” at Kennesaw State University's Marietta, GA, campus. During the event, they gave students in the university’s engineering, computer science, and business programs lots of reasons to focus on a future in the flooring industry and to pursue a career with Mannington MIlls. #Flooring?#GreatAssociates?#LocalEducationSupport?#CommunitySupport?#CompanyYouKeep

Roby Isaac, Alissa Hudson, and Mannington Commercial’s design team are always thinking beyond the floor. Recently, they had a “colorful conversation” in Chattanooga! #Flooring?#ManningtonCommercial?#CompanyYouKeep
Alissa Hudson & I had a fun afternoon with Chattanooga designers talking about color & its impact on our lives. Color is so influential in all that we do. The science and psychology behind it can be pretty complex. But in our daily lives, color decisions are made all the time with little thought to the “why” behind them. Sometimes we get to make our own color choices; think clothing and home interiors. Other times, we’re at the mercy of brands plastering their colors all over the place. There’s no doubt that colors evoke a response & it’s fascinating to explore why. #idcec #idcecapproved Thank you, Chattanooga designers of @iidatn! (franklin|architects & Rardin and Carroll Architects ) ——— After some “colorful conversation”, Alissa led a crafting workshop & spoke about the beauty of visible mending! Mannington Commercial
