Diagnosis often happens when kids start school and challenges with learning, behaviour, or social skills become more noticeable. However, some individuals aren’t diagnosed until later in life, especially if their symptoms are more subtle or mistaken for other conditions. Early diagnosis can make a big difference, helping kids and families access the right supports sooner. Find resources on our site: https://buff.ly/3vEoiIX #FASDEducation #FASDTraining #FASDResources

The term "cognitive disability" is preferred over "mentally disabled" because it is more accurate and respectful. "Mentally disabled" is outdated and can carry negative connotations, whereas "cognitive disability" focuses on how a person processes information, learns, and adapts. It also aligns with person-first language, which emphasizes the individual rather than the disability. #InclusionMatters #SupportNotStigma #FASDAdvocacy #UnderstandingFASD
