“Give us our roses while we’re still here.” - B. Parker ??????? On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we cling to the power and legacies of our trans and nonbinary siblings lost in the last year. As reported by the Human Rights Campaign, at least twenty-eight trans and gender-expansive folks were taken through violent means in 2024. Any loss of a trans person is a loss of great light in our world. We situate ourselves at a moment in history where trans people face extreme challenges to everyday life and livelihood. We know you’re struggling and we hear you loud and clear. Here is our message to you: You are needed; you are wanted; the world is better for you being here. Today, we honor those we’ve lost and celebrate those who are still here: ??Trans kids growing up across America ??Trans parents building beautiful families ??Trans advocates fighting for affirming policy protections ??Trans teens navigating coming out to their friends ??Trans teachers fostering inclusive classrooms ??Trans leaders on the ground, making their voices heard ?? Good Afternoon, Beautiful Community! The Manchester True Collaborative (MTC) Board of Directors has exciting opportunities for those passionate about making a difference. If you love nonprofit work, supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, or being a leader in your field, we’d love to hear from you! We have open positions on both our Executive Board (voting roles) and Non-Voting Board. Check out the roles below and see if one sparks your interest. Whether you’re looking to take on a leadership position or just want to support our mission, there’s a place for you at MTC. Executive Board Positions: Communications Director: Work alongside the secretary to shape our outward communications, build a social media calendar, share educational content, and craft our brand voice. You’ll create at least 2 posts per week and help define the organization's brand identity. (2-year term) Volunteer Coordinator: Coordinate with event chairs to ensure we have the right volunteer support for our events, including the annual Pride festival. Host volunteer recruitment and appreciation events twice a year. (2-year term) Non-Voting Board Positions: Pride Festival Co-Chair: Lead the planning and execution of the Pride Festival & Parade. Board Member at Large (4 Open Roles): Assist with key events, help foster relationships with external organizations, and serve as a community advocate. These are term-limited, two-year positions, but the commitment length is flexible. Key Dates to Save: October 28, 2024, 5:30-6:30 PM: Open Community Meeting & Listening Session November 25, 2024, 6:30-7:30 PM: Annual Meeting (Hear about our past work and the exciting future of MTC) If any of these roles sound like a fit, or if you’d like more information, please reach out to us! Check out what some of our MTC staff are accomplishing outside of Manchester True Collaborative. Board member James Dzindolet, CAPM, PPM and Pride Committee member Seneca Eldredge, MS, PMP worked together with a host of great organizations and volunteers to help administer Gear Up For School (GUFS), which provided over 2800 fully supplied backpacks to children in need in the #StateofNH and the Manchester School Districts in 2024 through their local #Rotary club, Hooksett Area Rotary Club, and fiscal sponsor Granite United Way. Manchester Proud was a partner in this years' effort and covered the assembly event in this awesome video below hosted at Southern New Hampshire University Millyard.
