As we wrap up Work Zone Awareness Week, we want to thank everyone who took the time to stay alert, slow down, and support safer roads across Iowa. Your attention and care make a real difference — not just for our crews, but for every worker putting in the hours to keep our roads moving. Let’s carry this awareness with us year-round. Safety doesn’t stop here.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do, but creating safer roads takes all of us. Whether you're behind the wheel or behind the cones, every decision matters. In 2024, there were over 1,000 work zone crashes reported across Iowa, resulting in more than 300 injuries. These numbers are a powerful reminder to slow down, stay alert, and respect work zones. Let’s do our part to protect the people who keep our roads safe and moving. Stay focused. Stay safe.

We’re proud to share that two members of our team have been recognized on a national level in the 2025 Lytx awards! Chris Foley, Concrete Delivery Professional (CDP) out of Johnston, earned Second Place for Lytx Driver of the Year in the Waste/Construction category. Chris’s thoughtful approach, dedication to safety, and willingness to share his knowledge make him a true leader behind the wheel. Ed Ziegler, Truck Foreman and Lytx Coach from our Brooklyn location, earned Third Place for Lytx Coach of the Year in the Waste/Construction category. Ed’s ability to motivate, mentor, and foster a culture of safety and accountability continues to elevate our team every day. A big thank you to Chris and Ed for living out Manatt’s values and putting excellence in the driver’s seat. We’d also like to recognize The Lytx Program Leadership Team & Committee for their commitment to implementing this program and supporting our teams along the way.

We’re excited to announce the promotion of Nick Gallagher to Vice President of Ready Mix!    With 18 years of service, Nick has shown unmatched leadership and a commitment to quality and safety. His experience and passion for building strong teams have already made a lasting impact.    Nick will continue driving growth and innovation for the Ready Mix division. We’re looking forward to all he will accomplish in this new role, building on his legacy of excellence and shaping the future of the division – leading with purpose, people, and passion.     Please join us in congratulating Nick on this well-deserved promotion!
