Our hearts go out to the family of Jimmy Carter. His unwavering dedication to Habitat for Humanity opened the doors to brighter futures for thousands of families. The seed of Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project was planted in 1984, when President Carter worked at a Habitat site in Americus, Georgia. Later that year, he and Mrs. Carter joined Habitat volunteers in New York for the inaugural Carter Work Project. For more than 35 years, they traveled across the world with Habitat, donating their time and voices to build and improve homes alongside Habitat homeowners. President and Mrs. Carter have worked with more than 104,000 volunteers in 14 countries to build, renovate, or repair 4,390 homes. Through their compassion and service, they made a lasting impact on countless lives. #HonoringCarter

Manatee Habitat's Advancing Black Homeownership (ABH) initiative is hosting an MLK Day of Service dedicated to building homes for families in need in Manatee County. Join us on Monday, January 20th, from 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM, and make a difference in our community. Whether you’re an experienced builder or new to volunteerism, this is a chance to give back, make an impact, and honor Dr. King’s vision of community and equality.
