Largest virtual reality (VR) education initiative to date in Utah! Incredible moments for our team at Uplift Aerospace as we have worked with Salt Lake City School District, Salt Lake Education Foundation, and Utah State Board of Education to launch this program for all the middle schools in SLCSD district! On any given day, hundreds of students are learning in VR, with groups of 75 students at a time fully engaged, immersed, and focused with their own personalized learning module. Students step into the boots of astronauts, allowing them to embark on missions that include building rockets, designing rovers, programming autonomous systems, conducting chemistry experiments, exploring space agriculture, and more. The best part? We haven't shared the most epic aspect of the program yet! Stay tuned ?? 5/5/2025... If you have a VR deployment, the LAST thing you want to deal with is WiFi issues that disrupt your end-user experience and hinder your ability to manage devices. Network connectivity is one of the most critical components of an XR deployment. While you can update your devices over the wire, over-the-air updates are extremely useful for quickly pushing configuration updates and new content, especially if your devices are in different locations. Devices may also require a network connection to use certain apps. If your network is slow or has weak connectivity, your devices can experience delays in loading content or download failures, which can interfere with your VR program. The problem is, how do you tell if these issues are the fault of your network or something else? And, if the fault is your network, how do you fix the problem? The answer starts with in-depth visibility. Both the administrator and the end user need deep visibility into their devices’ WiFi connectivity so they can quickly diagnose and troubleshoot issues with loading content and receiving updates. The ManageXR Web Console gives you visibility into your devices’ link speed, download speed, and connection strength. ??Link Speed is the upper limit of how fast your network can be but does not equate to the speed of larger data transfers your devices adhere to. ??Download Speed is the actual rate at which data was downloaded from the internet to your device, so it is the most accurate measure of your device’s internet quality. You will also see alerts on the ManageXR dashboard and device-level view if a device has a network issue due to blocked websites or an unstable network connection. In-headset users can see their WiFi connection strength, and in-headset admin settings will display persistent network issues and blocked endpoints for advanced troubleshooting. With this visibility into download speed and network connectivity, administrators and end users can diagnose their network issues and take the necessary steps to solve them, whether it’s connecting to a different WiFi network or removing blocked endpoints.
