关于我们
Management Sciences for Health (MSH) works shoulder-to-shoulder with countries and communities to save lives and improve the health of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people by building strong, resilient, sustainable health systems. Together, we seek to achieve universal health coverage—equitable, affordable access to high-quality health services for all who need them—even in fragile, post-crisis settings. For 50 years across 150 countries, MSH has partnered with governments, civil society, the private sector, and thousands of health workers on locally-led solutions that expand access to medicines and services, improve quality of care, help prevent and control epidemics, support inspiring leadership and transparent governance, and foster informed, empowered, and healthier communities. I just presented on “Adapting health systems to climate risks: innovations in sub-national public and primary care level in the Philippines” at the #HSR2024 conference in Nagasaki, Japan. I was asked to address a question regarding “transformative” changes in our interventions for climate resilient health systems. My response focused on two things that transformed our approach: 1) eLearning as efficient and sustainable capacity strengthening interventions: especially in a situation where we can’t gather large number of health workers from all over the country and whenever we need to reach as many health workers as possible in a short period of time. 2) Digitalization of the healthcare system: specifically the supply chain not only to make it operationally efficient and reduce waste that would in turn reduce the carbon footprint but also to predict the future and support immediate decision making. Speed is the critical element during emergency or disaster. USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program, Management Sciences for Health, Saba Waseem Aishling Thurow

The USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program is proud to partner with Kenya's Murang'a County in advancing lifesaving approaches to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Last week, Murang'a County launched its 2024-2026 County Antimicrobial Stewardship Interagency Committee (CASIC) and County Infection Prevention and Control Advisory Committee (CIPCAC) Workplans. These workplans will ensure a strong One Health approach towards unifying the health, agricultural, and environmental sectors to address AMR. MTaPS' technical assistance in Murang'a County has been pivotal in creating impactful changes, including: ?? Reduced surgical site infections ?? Greater rational use of antimicrobials ?? Improved healthcare waste management By strengthening governance structures and building human capacities, MTaPS has supported the County in laying the foundation for long-term success in AMR and infection prevention. As MTaPS' activities in Murang'a come to an end, we look forward to the next chapter in fighting AMR and the spread of infections in Kenya.
