Great conversation with Joel Saxum and Allen Hall. A strong aftermarket focus has guided us to evidence based solutions in both Gearbox and Main Shaft. Starting in 2018 the failed main shaft bearings we were inspecting presented different failure modes than expected. We were able to see the harm to DLC and subsequent acceleration of failure early and let the evidence dictate our solutions. It has been rewarding to see the relief these solutions have brought our partners that trusted our expertise and experience. I appreciated the opportunity to present alongside Randall Velikan during the Drivetrain Reliability Collaborative this week.
