“Struggle is a biological requirement for greatness.” A great educational study was done trying to investigate why Japanese kids were so much better at math than US kids. They used video cameras in the class and taped the way in which each class was taught. The study was looking at an 8th grade Algebra class. In the American class the students were actively struggling 2% of the time. In the Japanese class they were actively struggling 40% of the time.
