The Maleiha Carino Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving awareness, preparation, and accessibility in the fight against pediatric cancers. Our mission is to honor the memory of those who have bravely battled pediatric cancer by promoting education and research on childhood leukemia. Founded in honor of Maleiha Carino, a Filipino-American who was diagnosed with childhood leukemia in 2011, the Maleiha Carino Foundation strives to embody the values of education, strength, love, and community that Maleiha held so dear. Despite facing overwhelming odds, Maleiha managed to graduate from high school in 2014. Tragically, she lost her battle with cancer as she was preparing to enroll at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Through the Maleiha Carino Foundation, we aim to perpetuate Maleiha's legacy by supporting research and education efforts that will help to improve the lives of children affected by pediatric cancer.
