What an incredible day! On Tuesday, we launched Energy Tech Nexus in downtown Houston—with the biggest event I’ve ever hosted — alongside Juliana and Nada. It was amazing to see and feel the support from the ecosystem, both from here in Houston and beyond. We had set a modest target of 250 attendees, but we were thrilled to welcome over 520 people over the course of eight hours! The energy and excitement in the room was palpable all day. Highlights included: - City Proclamation from Joaquin Martinez, facilitated by Jesse Martinez - Speakers bringing unique perspectives, with Joey Sanchez running the show - Michael Lee to close us out with a brilliant keynote - A seamless Pilotathon where we had 25 startups pitch their business to the audience, with Jon Nordby and Michelle Torelli, MS keeping us on schedule - A vibrant Startup Showcase that was buzzing so much, we had to double the A/V levels for the Pilotathon so founders could be heard! This is only the beginning. We’ve already continued the momentum through the week, partnering with incredible events like Electric AI Day, Beyond the Grid: Maximizing Additionality in Corporate Renewable Energy Purchases, Café y Clima: Latam x Houston Climate Innovation, and coming up this Friday — Climate Vine. A huge thank you to everyone who made this launch such a success. The show would not have happened with out Payal Patel's immeasurable support, or without the support team of Poppin Parties and Krystal Williams. Special thanks to: Jacob Stiller on AV, Lee Bond behind hand the lens, Morris Chen, Recy Swan Ali Syed Dev Motiram Jose Chairez, Michelle Williams, Tiffanie Tovar, Aman Sohail, Kent Johnson, Brenna Groenemann, Regina Garcia Perez, Charles Ofili, Yarissa Yerena Eoin Doyle, Daniel Lugo, Dalia Lopez, Andre Sison, T. Paresh P., Joanne Salih. Additional thanks to Scott Case, Jason Beck, Dougal Cameron and Sandra Emiola, and Ryan LeVasseur for making our after-party memorable for the founders and VIPs who participated in the program. And for Sana Hasan who keeps our team's content game on point through it all. #EnergyTechNexus #EnergyTransition #Innovation #Pilotathon #HoustonEnergy #StartupShowcase #ClimateInnovation
