We recently had the pleasure of hosting a group of Xavier University College of Nursing / Xavier University senior nursing students and their instructor, Michelle Gordon, on a tour around the Club! They are learning about the Bond Hill community, its members, and assets, visiting different facilities to get a perspective of the community’s needs. Highlights include introducing them to: Head Golf professional David Bahr, who gave them an understanding of our robust support of the Western Golf Association/Evans Scholars Foundation caddie program; Executive Chef Brandon Bobb, who spoke of his internship and apprentice program supporting culinary students from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College; and XU Women’s Golf Coach, Breanna Jenco, who shared information about the University’s golf teams and the XU/Mak partnership, plus gave an impromptu behind-the-scenes look at the team locker rooms. The Yule Log Dinner at Maketewah Country Club anticipates the hope of the New Year. ?? This Celebration began in 1957 as a wholesome and spirit-lifting gathering of friends and family, and has become a Mak holiday tradition that will continue on for generations. ?? There is symbolism in this Yule Log Celebration. Our Club leaders represent us as a Club, and as the leaders of our Club family, carry the Yule Log and lead the procession, inviting the children to join. This represents our gratitude for the blessings that we enjoy, and the fulfillment of our dreams for the coming year. ?? New beginnings, new adventures, and new memories await.
