Today, August 8th, marks what would have been the 52nd birthday of Christopher James Greicius, the inspiration for the founding of Make-A-Wish. In 1980, Chris’s dream of becoming a police officer came true, thanks to a community of compassionate individuals who came together to make his wish a reality. His wish sparked a movement that has since granted more than 580,000 wishes, transforming the lives of countless children and their families. Chris’s legacy is a powerful reminder of the impact that a single act of kindness can have. Each wish granted brings hope, strength, and joy to children facing critical illnesses, creating moments of happiness that resonate far beyond the wish itself. As we remember Chris today, let’s celebrate the incredible work of the thousands of volunteers, staff members, corporate partners, donors, and supporters who make these wishes possible. Required experience includes management of social media platforms and media relations. Position works with fundraising team on impactful digital strategies. Strong writing skills are a must.
