This month we are excited to spotlight our volunteer, Serena U. Serena’s journey with Make-A-Wish began after she saw a video of an 8-year-old's wish to meet the Minnesota Vikings team be granted. As a mom of a child the same age with the same passion for football, she felt an instant connection to our mission of creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. When asked about the most rewarding aspect of her volunteer experience, Serena shared, “connecting with the families of these incredible children has been profoundly rewarding. Often we think of a wish as a gift solely for the child, but in reality it's a blessing for the entire family. As parents our greatest desire is to shield our children from suffering. Witnessing the resilience and strength these families display during unimaginable challenges is deeply moving.” Serena, we cannot thank you enough for recognizing not only the bravery of these children facing critical illness, but also the families who walk this challenging journey alongside them. Your hard work and compassionate spirit mean the world to us!
