Pietra’s wish to write a book comes true ?? #WorldBookDay We are so inspired by 12-year-old Pietra, who is living with bone cancer and wished to write and publish a book about her journey. Make-A-Wish? Brasil worked hard to make her wish a reality, from organising illustrations, printing and a book launch event. Thanks to their hard work, Pietra published 'Forte Como Uma Rocha' which translates to 'as Strong as a Rock'. And we're happy to share the book was a quick sell-out!

To mark #RareDiseaseDay we are showing the transformative power of wishes for children with rare and critical illnesses. 5-year-old Anton was born with brain damage and lives with multiple conditions, including a brain malformation and epilepsy. Being outside is what brings Anton the most joy, and his wish for a cargo bike for his pushchair will make nature so much more accessible for him, allowing him to go to the local lakes and feed the ducks with his family???? This month alone, at least 6,800 children will be diagnosed with a rare disease and become eligible for a wish across our Affiliates and territories.
