Pietra’s wish to write a book comes true ?? #WorldBookDay We are so inspired by 12-year-old Pietra, who is living with bone cancer and wished to write and publish a book about her journey. Make-A-Wish? Brasil worked hard to make her wish a reality, from organising illustrations, printing and a book launch event. Thanks to their hard work, Pietra published 'Forte Como Uma Rocha' which translates to 'as Strong as a Rock'. And we're happy to share the book was a quick sell-out!

To mark #RareDiseaseDay we are showing the transformative power of wishes for children with rare and critical illnesses. 5-year-old Anton was born with brain damage and lives with multiple conditions, including a brain malformation and epilepsy. Being outside is what brings Anton the most joy, and his wish for a cargo bike for his pushchair will make nature so much more accessible for him, allowing him to go to the local lakes and feed the ducks with his family???? This month alone, at least 6,800 children will be diagnosed with a rare disease and become eligible for a wish across our Affiliates and territories. Oliver's wish is incredibly meaningful, especially given the challenges his rare condition is expected to bring in the future #RareDiseaseDay 5-year-old Oliver lives with a degenerative muscle condition. Whilst Oliver can now walk a short distance, his mobility is expected to deteriorate as he grows older. Currently, Oliver’s speech is limited, and he relies heavily on his Mum and Dad to communicate for him. From seeing Big Ben and a trip on the London eye to a limo ride and cruise down the Thames, Oliver's wish to go sightseeing in London with his family became a joyous weekend of exploration thanks to Make-A-Wish? 70% of rare diseases begin in childhood and this month alone, at least 6,800 children will be diagnosed with a rare disease and become eligible for a wish across our Affiliates and territories. #RareDiseaseDay Sara lives with a rare and progressive muscle disease, but she doesn't let it define her life. Her wish was what many 16 year olds would wish for; a sweet 16 birthday party. With a neon theme of course! Make-A-Wish? Brasil arranged the perfect day, beginning with Sara getting her hair and make-up done, before enjoying her party full of fun surprises and dancing with friends. Sara's excitement and joy, surrounded by people who love her, made this moment an unforgettable milestone.
