关于我们
Transforming lives one wish at a time. It is our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child battling a critical illness in Hawaii. Our program is 100% privately funded, and all donations stay in Hawaii to support local wish-granting efforts. While we are headquartered in Honolulu, we operate statewide with the help of volunteers and trained wish granters living on all islands. Our Hawaii chapter is among the busiest in the nation, with the privilege of granting over 1,100 wishes per year; coming to Hawaii is the second most requested wish worldwide. Founded in 1982 to host these visiting wish families, we granted our first local wish in 1984 and have been dedicated ever since to ensuring Hawaii’s keiki get referred and see their wishes come true. For 35 years, we have established the power of a wish come true and know that wishes truly are good medicine. As of 2017, we have helped more than 15,000 children and their families experience the life-changing impact of a wish. Learn more at hawaii.wish.org.

Wish granted! ?? Layla, a 13-year-old from Kailua-Kona, wished to have a Kardashian-style party to celebrate the end of cancer treatment after bravely fighting lymphoma. For Layla, this party was more than an event—it is a symbol of triumph, joy, and strength. ?? Thanks to the generous support of Goodfellow Bros., many local businesses, and Wish Granters Brittany and Michael, Layla’s wish was granted under the stars last weekend at Hulihe‘e Palace. Layla and her guests enjoyed a delicious taco and nacho bar form Papa Kona’s, scrumptious specialty desserts by Marty Cakes, and an exquisitely designed and tented space from Big Island Tents. They posed for photos at a beautiful backdrop by Just Balloons Hawaii and danced to music by DJ Syf. “It was amazing,” shares Layla’s mom, Jenn. “The party was so special! We are so grateful! What a wish—and so awesome that it was granted!” ?? In the months leading up to her party, it was all that Layla could think about! The anticipation of her wish come true kept her focused on the future and helped take her mind off treatment. “It gave us all hope and something to look forward to,” Jenn says. ? Reison, a 14-year-old boy from Honolulu, has bravely navigated life with a nervous system disorder, facing persistent seizures that have impacted his growth and created many challenges. But his love for Disney movies and joy in toys with lights and sounds inspired a dream—to experience the magic of Walt Disney World? and its iconic Electric Light Parade. Reison’s wish was granted this summer thanks to the heartfelt and generous support of Alaska Airlines. From meticulous coordination weeks in advance to in-flight accommodations for his medical condition, Alaska Airlines’ dedication and care for Reison and his family were truly first class. At Disney World, Reison experienced many adventures for the first time, including riding carousels, exploring Imagination Land, and watching fascinating light shows. ??? “We all got to spend time together as a family in a magical place on earth—a beautiful memory that will be kept in our hearts forever,” says Reison’s mother, Tulpe. ?? Nearly 20% of our wishes are granted for children with nervous system disorders, like epilepsy. If you know a child who might be eligible for a wish, we encourage you to refer them today at hawaii.wish.org.
